Episode 87

Matthew 26:47-56

Matthew 26:47-56

  1. Let us notice what gracious condescension marked our Lord's communion with His disciples.
  2. Let us notice how our Lord condemns those who think to use carnal weapons in defense of Him and His cause.
  3. Let us notice how our Lord submitted to be made a prisoner of His own free will.
  4. Let us notice how little Christians know the weakness of their own hearts, until they are tried.

"The willing sufferer will surely be a willing Savior. The almighty Son of God, who allowed men to bind Him and lead Him away captive, when He might have prevented them with a word, must surely be full of readiness to save the souls that flee to Him. Once more then let us learn to trust Him, and not be afraid."

Hi! My name is Shaun Martens, and I have the joy of serving the local body of Christ called First Baptist Church of Calgary as one of its pastors. I am married to my beautiful wife, Madelyn, and together we have 5 children, 3 of which we have the joy of parenting. I created this podcast to make the edifying writings of J.C. Ryle more accessible in a listening and devotional format.
